WHAT DOES IT TAKE?
Requirements & Commitment
To become a volunteer firefighter, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Complete an application
- Provide your own transportation to and from the department
- Attend a minimum of two scheduled training sessions per month (in separate weeks)
- Work a minimum of eight hours of duty crew per month
- Participate in community events when the department is involved

- All the training you need to become a volunteer firefighter
- All fire gear and duty uniforms
- A nominal stipend for duty crew, training, and emergency responses
