Schedule the Fire Safety Trailer
The Shelbyville Fire & Rescue Fire Safety Trailer is a mobile learning vehicle that was purchased with FEMA grant money and money generated from the departments annual poker run. One of the uses of the fire safety trailer is the ability to simulate non-toxic smoke conditions in a home and having a means of escape.

The target audience includes children in pre-school and kindergarden through the 5th grade.
Fire Safety Lectures may include:
Dont hide, get outside
Once outside, stay outside
Have a planned family meeting place
Install smoke alarms in your home and make sure the batteries are changed twice a year
Dont play with matches and/or lighters
Know your emergency number (911)
Stop, Drop and Roll
Have a escape plan and practice
Dont be afraid of firefighters.

Availability:
The Fire Safety Trailer is normally available March through October by appointment only. There are many factors that affect availability including: man-power, weather, time of day and if the trailer is in-service.
